Cowboy Bebop, the heart of all anime.
This show is, I think I can safely say, the difinitive anime. The characterization is nothing short of astounding. Each character, no matter how incidental, has a distinct personality. Each bit player has a background. And each main character has a soul. They are just that real. You will laugh with them, you will cry with them, and all your life you'll remember them.
Cowboy Bebop does something seldom seen in any art form, it shines a brilliant light into our deepest psyches and finds what makes people people. The understanding of human nature the series displays is astoundng, from our vain, glory seeking sides to the much deeper sorrows even the most carefree seeming person hides. And all this is done without ever seeming overly soppy or emotional. Each pice is so carefully placed, each phrase so carefully turned that the impact always hits home without ever seeming forced.
And the music. Part of Bebop's soul stems from its music. Created by Yoko Kanno, each session/episode has it's own song. The pieces range from bebop (duh) to classical to heavy metal, and each one is perfect for where it's placed. If you took out the music, Bebop would lose much of it's heart. The lively Tank! opens the very first episode and the mournful Blue finishes the last. Each song inbetween is beautiful, original, and totally wonderful.
The animation keeps pace with everything else, being beautifully fluid. The use of symbolism conveys every nuance of the plot. A shattered stainglass window. A single rose in a black and white frame that gradually reddens. A single star fading and falling from the sky. Magnificent.
Cowboy Bebop is a show that could change your life. It is among the ranks of the elite, the immortal. It is the Casablanca of anime, the epitome of all that is right and wrong with life. It is a story about finding what is right for you, chasing your dreams, and finding your place in life. It sparkles and glimmers brightly like a falling star, beautiful and magnificent, even though the phenomenon lasts only a short while.

This show is so awesome this is REAl anime intense story with drama,love, and despair. i like the fact that it was intended for adults and teens and not for kids. i like the episode where they say that t.v. is a religion on its own. The only con about this show is that its on at frigin 12:00 midnight i rarely watch it cuz im too tired to watch but if u can watch it so awesome. P.s. i also like the episode when the dude smugled an ilegal rose to get money for his blind sister but they shot him :( very moving.

Simply the best anime ever. The artwork is phenomenal, a number of the landscapes are art gallery-quality. Motion of characters is possibly the best of any series. A plot that makes sense, characters that are simple yet complex, and a story that keeps you thinking years after the first time you see the series. Music is tops as well. It's true, Cowboy Bebop is not simply anime.... it is a genre unto itself.

Well-written, extremely well-animated, and very well-conceived. While it's not quite a favorite of mine, Cowboy Bebop is one of the few TV series that can be presented as "art" as well as pop culture. Stylish, slick, and subtly humorous, with a very defined sense of irony.
But then, that's nothing that anyone else couldn't tell you.

Hmmm,
I am sorry... What the heck is so good about this anime... oh yeah, it is good in artistic terms. But hey, we need story... we need plot... I tried to complete watching this anime but had a hard time convincing myself it is as good as the comments had stated, so I gave up after about 8 episodes. Well, all of my friends doesn't like it... I don't understand how it got to be best of the best here.... someone mentioned trigun... yeah, that is better... I'd be fair... the artistic directing is good. so... "Bad".

This anime is absolutely amazing! The characters are creative, the plot is not forgetable, and the story in each episode is impressive. If you like this anime then I suggest that you see Trigun too.

Shinichuro Watanabe of the chief director of this Anime is manufacturing "MACROSS PLUS" before.
Music of "MACROSS PLUS" is also Youko Sugano.

This series is the epitome of cool. The jazz and blues music gives it great atmosphere and the characters are just plain cool. It is a must see for entertainment in my opinion. It's just da' bomb.

I've seen every Gundam series, Outlaw Star, Trigun, Akira, and many other anime, but none of them compare to Cowboy Bebop. You could get anybody who hates anime and make them start to like it just by watching Ballad of Fallen Angels! Vicious and Spike have to be the two coolest Anime rivals I have ever seen. The music is excellent (has Yoko Kanno ever done any bad music?) and I think the only bad episodes are Brain Scratch, Jupiter Jazz part 1, and Boogie Woogie Feng Shui. This series is definetely the best of the best.

I could tell you how good this anime is for a lifetime!!!!! Its soo hard to explain! I love it---the music, the plot, the drawing--everything!! There is no ifs, ands, or buts! Any anime fan must see this--They show it on Cartoon Network at 12 pm Eastern time. Oh my gosh its soo good!! no joke. The last episode brought me to tears, everything comes into play and its amazing!! I get this feeling in my chest just thinking about it ^.^ lol Oh well, you gotta watch this--or else I'm comin to get'ya!! ^.~

I love this anime, is one of the best I've ever seen. The music is FANTASTIC, my favourite songs are "Green Bird" and "Walk in the Rain".I'd like to be like Spike. But I really want that Spike falls in love with Faye. She is BETTER than Julia!

YAAAAAYYYYYY Cowboy Bebop rules, it's mature and amazingly funny at the same time. Even if I must say that I totally HATED the last episode (because of the way it ended...) I still love the show. Ed is sooooo funny, and Spike and Faye are too cool, heck I love evreyone on the Bebop!!!!!
