All Ghibli's works are great and "Porco Rosso" is no exception. I was immediately drawn in to the lovely music and the calming atmosphere of this film. And the more I watched, the more I came to love the story and the characters (the film is so sweet and made me laugh at those great moments). Really a great film.

The most underrated Ghibli film ever made. Miyazaki's fascination with seaplanes and flying boats is evident in this incredibly animated labor of love that takes us back to a freewheeling time when those planes ruled the skies of the Adriatic. The characters are wonderful, especially the gruff, pugnacious, yet sweet-hearted Porco. Other films may take all the accolades, but this film seems to hem closest to the artist's soul ... and that ought to be recognized and appreciated. A personal favorite.

I still wonder what genre is this movie. did Marco (the Crimson Pig) changed into a pig by magic? how come there isn't really any magic in this movie?
but anyway i adore this movie, i love the comic relief and gotta agreed w/ weird otaku, it's "italiano"!
