As a movie and anime, I think this one is very cool!
It made me wonder how we percept "the world" and how "the world" exists.
One of the atistic anime movie such as My neighbor Totoro.

Amasing animation, combined with very good action scenes.
The movie itself deals with existance as percepted by itself, and the perception of self and soul by biological-scientific theories (something like the meaning of life thing)
Gives you something to think about

WOW! This movie was just so awesome. The animation, sound, everything - was so cool! The storyline is great also! It's a very serious movie and they use alot of political words that confused me a little, but I still understood the plot. Overall... hmmm let's see, how can I put this simply... amazing, astonishing, astounding, incredible, marvelous, unbelievable, wonderful, exorbitant, extravagant, outrageous, monstrous, prodigious, stupendous, wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!

VERY SORRY to anyone that likes it but it didn't do anything for me. I hate the kind of animation it had and the story was pretty dumb. Definately not one of my favorites!

It was one of the best sci fi action anime i've seen. It's right up there with ninja scroll.

Absolutely beautiful!
I read the manga (english version) when it was released as a graphic novel in the mid-90's and loved it's complex story and cyber-punk imagery. When I found out it was available on VHS, I went out and bought a copy. When I wore out the tape, I bought the DVD... I think you get the picture... the movie is gloriously animated (I can't stress that strongly enough.)
The story focuses on a handful of cops within an agency called "Section 9". They are in the midst of a power struggle with Section 6 as well as the diplomatic corps.
The story begins as they are investigating crimes by a terrorist only known as the "Puppetmaster." Nobody knows who he is, what his motives are, or what his agenda is. A power stuggle begins as the various agencies try to be the first to apprehend him.
No mere Cop show, this movie tackles meaning of what it means to be human. What it means to have a soul. And, is there a difference?
The movie is not rated, but aught to be rated between PG-13 and R. Violence and Nudity (no sex)

Words are inadequate to effectively convey my love of this movie. Animation, music, character design and depth, plot, are all mind-boggling. My collection would be glaringly incomplete without this title.

This is the kind of movie that will change the way people think.Its a VERY SMART MOVIE.One of the best animes out there(I love manga!)
