Ah, I love this series! It's too bad not many people have seen this because it's one of pre-Ghibli's best works. The portrayal of Holmes and Watson in this anime are very lovable, though much different than their novel personalities. I would prefer this to the actual Holmes novels because I love the Japanese influence on it with the most subtle things (like Ms. Hudson being the love interest). The animation is very good especially being from the 80's, the stories are well-done (some are the actual cases), and the voice-acting is superb! The opening and ending themes are too pleasant for words.
