i love this ghibli work, it's an art film,imho. visually stunning, world of magician's and a sweet love story. definitely one of my favorites. miyazaki has always been known to be stingy and provides only enough to understand that howl goes missing in a war, and the girl is doing everything she can to keep howl safe, etc. but there's so much more eye candy and attention to detail, (like calucifer and the things the characters do in the bg) to sulk about the rest of the plot. they have an awesome bg music too. =)

Hayao Miyazaki said "this is the final movie which I will make" when he announces Princess Mononoke.
Well, he was involved with two other titles, "Sen to Chihiro" and this one.
I don't think he is doing great job even though he changed his word.

It seems that women loves this story, just basically because howl is cool.
I am a man, so I cannot ignore the breaking of the logicalness.
Drawing level is quite high as usual.
But storyline is not excellent, too bad.
I cannot understand why they are fighting and why they can quit the war so soon.
You know, war is not playing.

And as a love romance, I prefer "Whisper of the Heart" which is also the work of Studio Zhibli. I cannot see why the woman got in love with Howl. Maybe we can see it in the books but it seems that the time is too short for this movie.
