| 2002/12/04 Best(+3 pnt) [Unable to delete by yourself/Suggest to delete/Show only this review or post sympathy comment/] by Yotsuya (Skip) Review history[Good:1(100%) Normal:0(0%) Bad:0(0%)] / Provider: 0 Host:1786 Maison Ikkoku is, arguably, Rumiko Takahashi's magnum opus and justifies her exalted position as one of Japan's most pre-eminent mangaka's. What's not to like in this fabulous anime - characters and situations most of us can relate to, a mix of eccentric and quirky humour (but not quite too far gone), as well as genuinely heartbreaking drama. By the time the last episode's credits roll, we find it difficult to extricate ourselves from the fictional lives Takahashi has weaved for us; it's like parting ways with old friends. I can whole-heartedly recommend this series to anyone who may care to listen and be willing to be enamoured (at least for 96 episodes) by one of the greatest anime series ever created. I have seen a fair amount of romance anime in the short time I've been watching them, but I don't believe that anything has yet to come close to dethroning MI. It is obviously a labour of love that it commands such attention and admiration for so many fans around the world. Well done Rumiko Takahashi! 2002/01/26 Favorite comment [Unable to delete by yourself/Suggest to delete/Show only this review or post sympathy comment/] by Robert Carlisle (Skip) Review history / Provider: 0 Host:2320 This is the greatest love story ever written. I cannot express in this short space how much impact this show has had on my life. It tells a story that is universal enough to touch anyone who believes in true love, yet also gives a wonderful picture of the vanishing traditionalism of 80s Japan. With the deepest characterization of any anime, not to mention a story that spans 96 episodes yet never seems drawn-out, this is my favorite story in the world. 2002/01/25 Favorite comment [Unable to delete by yourself/Suggest to delete/Show only this review or post sympathy comment/] by Wim (Skip) Review history / Provider: 0 Host:1826 One of the best anime.. After watching the first time and rewatching it again i was suprised how the characters have grown in the series. Good love story, very good character development. This will stay for a long time my favorite ! 2002/01/21 Best(+3 pnt) [Unable to delete by yourself/Suggest to delete/Show only this review or post sympathy comment/] by Bafgodai (Skip) Review history[Good:1(100%) Normal:0(0%) Bad:0(0%)] / Provider: 0 Host:2777 That's surely the best story I saw and red... That's as funny as romantic and could be a real story...well, that's what all fan's are thinking of ! After having seen french translated TV serie, I saw the original version (english subtitled), french translated manga, original manga, and now I'm helping a friend to make french subtitled ! When you taste it, you turn crazy about it. 2002/01/19 Best(+3 pnt) [Unable to delete by yourself/Suggest to delete/Show only this review or post sympathy comment/] by John Liu (Skip) Review history[Good:1(100%) Normal:0(0%) Bad:0(0%)] / Provider: 0 Host:3198 Best anime series ever made! First watched the series back in 1990 subtitled in English. Even nowadays, I can watch the series all the way through in 3 days. The plot and character development is excellent. One can relate very well to Godai and Mitaka, and even feel their pain. I just had a baby girl last year, and as soon as she is old enough, I'll make sure my daughter watches Maison Ikkoku with me!
