Shichiri Tasuke is a hapless nebbish. Shaorin and Ruuan are two goddesses who compete to grant his every wish, and invariably cause "hijinks" that often leave Tasuke in mortal danger (largely because they apparently share one rather small brain).

No, this isn't Oh My Goddess -- no, this simplistic melange of slapstick is something far less qualified to be labeled as "comedy" or even "entertainment". Especially not when the pinnacle of humor is having a large cartoony wooden cutout of Mount Fuji yell out "Fuji! Fuji!" as if it's the world's largest Pokemon. Ha. Funny indeed.

About the only things good about Mamotte Shugogetten are the opening song and the lovably cute Rishu, who really deserves a better show.

As for the rest, one word sums it all up succinctly:

One of my favorite anime and manga series! The manga illustrations by Sakurano Minene-sensei are beautiful and haunting. The story is a very funny romance. At first the story may seem like a re-telling of Aa, Megamisama! but the story really is quite different.
