I don't like the style of artwork (I prefer works like X and Yami no Matsuei), but the plot in and of itself is simply amazing! I have never seen a movie where YOU get plunged WITH the character into the depths of insanity so convincingly... how you can't tell what's real and what's not by the end of the film... It's very, very confusing, but I think that's part of it's appeal. It leaves you shaken, and uncertain of your OWN reality! I think some of the smutty scenes were a bit unnecessary, but I do concede that it conveys her desperation to be a "good" actor well, that she would be willing to do anything to impress them. In short, I think I would give this film two big thumbs up for it's sheer strangeness!

Agreed.... Sorrid plot, barely decent art.... And -aweful- soundtrack.

I haven't seen an excellent anime like this for a long time. The plot is the
best, you will never know who is ....!?
P.S. "Good anime" for me does not like Disney one that telling you all what
going on and what gonna happen.

this is a good anime for those of you who are looking for more than just action.I myself injoyed the movie but some my buddies felt it did'nt have action or nunitiy.but me being a TRUE anime fan,I must say......this is a breakthrew move in anime(I'd put this in the ranks with ghost in a shell and ninja scholl)

perfect blue was a remarkable film both
for its plot and art illistration. this would be about the first anime that was
ballzy enough to come out with a psychosamatic thriller. wathing this movie is like being thrown in to alice in the looking glass and the next minute a horror film. dont judge if you
havn't seen it.

I saw this in a group and when it was over, we all had differing ideas about just where the plot had been trying to go... A very bad anime, and some very bad animation in several respects. If you can stand the style, the plot will still get you in the end... I want my money back...

Anime quality alone, it's bad. The plot is slightly confusing, and I'm too agreeable on all the smutty spots. still, the plot's great. I did enjoy it all together, despite its faults...

tHIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST ANIME MOVIES i HAVE EVER SEEN!!! iT BLEW-PERFECTLY! tHE MAIN CHARACTER DESIGN WAS COOL ACTUALLY ALL OF CHAM WAS GOOD LOKKING BUT EVERYTHING ELSE SUCKED PRETTY BAD!
