I think this work is affected by Eva.
But it is hard to keep watching without special effort.
Too spiritual story, I think.
Someone will love this story but others cannot have the interest in this story, I think.
Drwaing touch is quite unique and I think it is good.

Serial experiments is one of the most contriversial animes there is out there. Personally I love it, but the hard core action fans who mainly watch shows like Dragonball GT and Yu-yu Hakasho will be very dissapointed. The series moves slowly, but in return provides an extremely well devlopped storyline that draws anyone who is willing and un biassed into it quickly. The slow pace is a side effect of the amazig network of the storyline which at parts becomes overwhelmmingly philosophical and provides an edge-of-your seat thrill for most people even with out action. The first few episodes (or "layers") are enough to allow you to determine whether you will like the series as they give an accurate and constantly maintained view of the feeling of the series. If you unsure what you will think of it, my reccomedation is to go some where and rent the first disk (Navi) and watch that, then decide for your self.

Wow. Where to begin? Serial Experiments Lain hs got to be one of the most realistic, if not slightly freaky animes out there. Let me begin by this: If you are one who takes what you see and hear seriously, then you might have trouble with Lain. The fact tha computers and death play a HUGE part of the story, and the fact that you and I are using a computer might scare the heck out of you. Overall, Serial Experiments Lain is definitely worth the plot, worth your money, and I guarantee you, worth the animation and the sleepless nights you'll have analyzing this show--
