On another note, Tenkuu No Escaflowne follows somewhat of a cliche plot (guy and girl who fail to realize they love each other)but manages to spruce it up dramatically. It interminges new and old theories of another 'dimension', tarot, life on other planets, and the (I would say) somewhat medieval era (I mean...they duel with swords...) Though not the best, the animation is very eye-catching, and the whole underlayered plot of Van and Folken's relationship is quite interesting. This is one of the few animes that has swirled shoujo and shonen anime together perfectly, the perfect combination.
