Listen up, if u don't like a little gore, tons on intense action scenes, great art, and fantastic visual effects maybe you shouldn't watch animes. But if you do like animes this is the best (look above to know why its the best) ^_^ !!!

My wife (who's from Japan) and I sat
down to watch this in the original
format. Neither of us could understand
anything about this movei. Because of
its phenomenal reputation, we rented it
in English just to see if dubbing it
would bring sense to it. Didn't. This is
the WORST anime film I have ever seen!
It's nonsensical! People seem to want
to "love" it on reputation alone!

I'm so gross...I spilled my guts everywhere...what happened to me....
It was quite a frightening anime...really "not pretty" as many people will say.
Just remember not to look at a meat dish after you watch it....you may turn vegetarian...

11 years after it was released and still one of the BEST movies available in the anime world. With so many factors, the director/writer Otomo shows his power in every scene and action, the colors, details, complexity and visual effects are all outstanding even with these days technology. It was also the key taht opened the door to anime in the international market.

yeah sure it was gory but hey. that's ok i liked it and stuff. not the best though. evagelion is better.

It was awesome i dont know what was so boring about it as some ppl say cuz it was theeeee best i enjoyed

This was the first anime i had ever seen. After seeing it all i could think about was anime. It was a great show! The colors used, the art, the personalities of the characters, the plot, all wonderful! I did get kinda grossed out though when tetsuo got all fat n' crap. But it was worth it. Wonderul anime if i had to rate it on a scale from one to ten definently a ten.

It's an excellent anime one of the best i've ever seen indeed.
The story just gets you from the very beggining tht you can't leave 'til you've found out wht the mistry of Akira was all about.Remarkable.

The guts, the blood, the fat beneath the skin all expanding infinitely and spilling out of the weak confines of the human form. Sure it SEEMS to be looking for something more meaningful....but...........
you need to get the point across you know!!!
Try Evangelion if you need anything deep and meaningful, that actually prevails in the animation.

It's a classic anime,but it's a little bit boring...I think that Wind named amnesia and Venus Wars are much interesting then Akira ...
