This anime changed me as a person, as a human being, it has had the greatest effect on me BY FAR than any other anime I have ever watched, I only wished it could go on... but the ending movies was a perfect finish to the masterpiece that is EVA NGE. This Anime will be immortalized forever for its sheer brilliance, artistic creativity, originality and overall GODLIKENESS!!!!!!!!!!

wow..NGE is the best anime ever..there is no anime that will come close to what i felt about this anime...its so deep that its hard to understand but when u get use to it...then u will pick it up more and more...and it even helped me...it gave me a thing to identify with myself...with shinji and with the other characters..they were not perfect and it was beautiful to see them flawed in the only way humans are..it truly captured what it was to be a human...it really did...^^

This robot animated cartoon was a masterpiece.
The mechanical design of this animated cartoon was very novel.
However, the story of this animated cartoon was not comprehensible.
And, the final episode was incoherent.
If the final episode was not incoherent, this animated cartoon was more wonderful.

This is one of the few Japenese anime that i really liked. It is really hard to find any flaw in the series (beside the last 2 episodes, Gainax seemed to be running out of cash) and the 2 movies are just perfect. The best thing about NG Eva is not its outstanding effect, amazing soundtracks or the awesome voice-acting, but the memorable and touching storyline. I will never forget NG Eva, it is simply the best anime ever made.

I can't say I like this series. Like reviewer Karl P stated, the plot was really meaningless and the ending wasn't really concluded. Shinji is an incredibly weak character whom some say "is the strongest" (obviously he's the strongest, but his personality and stress-intake is weak), Asuka is the most annoying character (loud, obnoxious, claiming she's so superior but really has no sense of leadership...this is why she and Shinji are so good together), and Rei is the most likable but had to be in this series. The only credit I'll give this series is probably having nice mech designs and being one of the revolutionary series to involve mechas with human compatiblity. But, that's about it.

I was raised with this anime i have allways loved it and have wathched it since i was very young. Now i love anime and evangellion! I also love rei.... very deep character......

this is the definitive anime. it goes above and beyond all others, and anyone who thinks is sux can kiss my #$%%. the end is the best ending i have seen anywhere, live action or anime, and the two movies add to the experience. the best way to view it is to watch End of Evangelion before episodes 25-26.

While not an outright bad series, Evangelion is not the best thing since sliced bread. With incredibly disjointed plotting and tone, this is less a coherent series than the ramblings of a frustrated middle-aged man in the guise of a teenager. Where it succeeds in shock value, it sometimes fails to consider its audience's mentality. The galling thing is the obsession with Ayanami Rei, who is one of the least developed characters in anime history (and for good reason). With a pathetically spineless lead, and a cast of psychotic characters, it's no wonder the series ended as it did. Granted, there are moments of sheer genius in there ... but the finished product, while memorable and influential, is not "the mother of all anime". Not by a long shot.

As "good" (sarcasm) as "cowboy bebop" but without the artistic sense... however this anime tries to get you into some real moody dark feeling... It succeeded... However, it also gives a bonus feeling of frustration for me. So... "Bad". lets consider it better than bebop in the sense that it has a pathetic storyline at least but not as good in artistic terms. so same rating as the cowboy ...."bad"

Actually, the only characters that really appealed to me in this anime were... Penpen. O_O Yeah. I don't like Rei. Or Asuka. Or Shinji. Or--- WAIT! Toji! YEAH! TOJI IS COOL!!!!! And so is Kaworu! *Huggles Kaworu. Then gets scared and runs away.* Evangelion is so original, and... German... O_O ....^_^

I think that NG Evangelion is one of the best anime of all time, if not the best. It is very emotional and very deep, but it isn't for everyone. Let me just say that I have seen a lot of anime and NGE is not for people that have never seen any anime. You first have to get accustomed with watching other series and then watch NGE to enjoy it to it's full extent. Remember that even in Japan NGE was met with some dislike because it wasn't like other anime. Remember:
