This is the Mother/Father of All Anime. Sure there are great anime that are older; 8 Man, Gigantor, Speed Racer, Lupin The 3rd. But Ranma is like a gateway drug. If you know anyone who thinks Anime is all "Robots & Fighting", show them Ranma and they will be hooked. Then they can move on to harder stuff like Chobits, or the really hard stuff like Elfen Lied. Not only is Ranma in my "Top 10 of All Time", it's at the top of it's own seperate list! Other great gender-swapping anime are; Kashimashi, a relitive new comer to the genre, and Tenshi na Konamaiki aka (Cheeky Angel), which is voiced by Megumi Hayashibara, Girl-Type Ranma herself, in case you can't get enough Ranma. Because, even though it's one of the longest anime series, you can never have too much Ranma.

The body of Ranma changes from a man into the woman.
However, this setting is a plagiarism of "CINDERELLA BOY".
"CINDERELLA BOY" are older than "Ranma", if it says about the original cartoon.
Even leading part's name is the same.
Therefore, I do not think this animated cartoon to be better.
However, this animated cartoon obtained a high audience rating in each country.
This is a popular animated cartoon.
Therefore, this animated cartoon is not a bad animated cartoon.
I think so.

Another great series by the shojo goddess herself, Rumiko Takahashi-sama. Ranma 1/2 is very very funny, even leaving out the gender changing. Sometimes the humor takes a few cheap shots, but hey, don't we all? Something I like a lot about this series is that it stays lighthearted. Sometimes I end up feeling worried, or even depressed, when reading a manga, especially if I can't find out what happens next! This seldom happened in Ranma, it always left me feeling happy and relaxed after reading it, something that's a nice change from the more serious manga/anime like the latter volumes Dragon Knights or Cowboy Bebop. Don't get me wrong, I love both the latter series, but when I feel a need for a pick-me-up, Ranma always does it. The only problem I could see is that it's less than appropriate for younger audiences, though the story itself is't the problem. Enough chest shots already, we get the point, Ranma changes into a girl! That aside, Ranma 1/2 is a fun lighthearted series that leaves you feeling happy and refreshed.

This is in my opinio the best anime ever the manga is absolutely incredible its even better than the anime, The history is very entertaining, it has romance(a bit on the weird side but there is)lots of comedy, action, curses, some sillyness in there but is reeally good. Can't get enough of it!

The only reason I started watching this series was because I won the OAV series from Animerica. I wish I would have started watching the series sooner, it has comedy, some romance, and, of course, martial arts. A+ for Ranma!

es uno de los mejores y mas divertidos animes que he visto ademas de que cuanta con una calidad de dibujo aceptable y una historia atrayente , ademas de una buena tematica (que un hombre se combierta en mujer???? orale*_*).me gustaria ver una segunda parte, algo asi como ranma 2/1(mean two of a kind but certanly diferent one each of the other), como dos enteros, dos series enteras.
podria ser que fuera el mispo ranma u otro, ya que quien dice que fue el unico que cayo en la posa, aunque si fuera otro tendrian que cambiarle el nombre .
