This is the most amazing series in the history of manga!!! Possibly even better than Hellsing and thats saying something! Subaru Sumeragi and Seishiro Sakurazukamori are sooooo cool!!

There isn't much that I can say 'bout this anime other than it was reasonable. I haven't read any of the manga and am quite clueless to the plot. However, it was good for what it was worth. Seems odd that it was a movie of a compressed series rather than a new story altogether.

I absolutely ADORE this anime! First I read the mangas (or what has been released, anyways), and I completely fell in love with the amazing artwork. Then I bought X the movie, and I was a little disappointed that they didn't follow the original plot, but still impressed that they managed to compress this complex series into a single movie - and still make it look good! I have now started collecting the TV series, and while, in my opinion, the art is not as good, it follows the plot very well, and I simply LOVE the opening theme, eX dream. I also love the implied shounen-ai between Kamui and Fuma (I'm a major fan of protagonist/antagonist pairings, what can I say?); I think it really adds to the complexity and depth of the relationship, both between Kamui and Fuma, and Kamui and Kotori. In short, I think this is CLAMP's absolute best work, and it is first on my manga/anime reccomendation list, especially for those who want more than a sappy love story or meaningless slaughter.

Very nice art and graphics... kinda gloomy... The movie is better in the sense that it gives a very dark feeling, somehow "cool". The series is better in the storyline.... Both are good... very unusual...

At first it was really confusing. I didn't really get what all was going on but by the time I got into about half the movie I started understading it. My favorite Dragon of Heaven would definetely have to be Kamui. And my favorite Dragon of Earth would have to be Nataku. X is definetely an anime you'd want to see if you are a big angst fan. See, just look at me...

Ah, people misunderstand this anime. It's my favorite of all time. CLAMP's best work by leaps and bounds.
Most people in America are only aware of the movie of the same name, which tried unsucessfully to cram a 20 volume manga series (which at the time of the movie's release was not even finished) into a 90 minute film that of course, barely made sense. Nonetheless, it was beautifully animated and had an very interesting and unique storyline. The movie barely gave time for introduction of every character before they were dead in battle--much less their backgrounds and individual pasts.
The TV series made up for the mistake of the film. It followed the intended plot of the manga (which was phenomenonally good) much more closely and there was enough time to explain the pasts of the characters, their motives for being on which side they had taken, what they hoped to accomplish, etc. The series made me cry on more than one occassion, and if you're into serious, mature anime--this anime is for you. *wabes flags*

I LOVED the movie! Sorata and Arashi are the best! It was very mystical and mysterious(Hence all the echoing voices..)... And unlike alot of the other annime I've seen, there isn't much music, and it gives a more.. Mysterious.... Feeling to it. X had alot of decapitating though... Funky.. But CLAMP is the best! Their art is as well! Another downside to this anime was that sometimes, it gets sortof confusing(juuuust a little bit) at times, which can be a bad thing...

X is definitely a great series.
The story is very original with amazing character development and plot twists to keep anyone absorbed until the end.
CLAMP's art is, likewise, some of the best I've ever seen.
