The high-quality graphics (for the time) were very nice ... but I had a hard time getting into the characters, due to the "kiddy" looking design aesthetic. Still, a very good game, if not quite as enthralling as previous installments, to me.

I this is the best game i have played in my LIFE!!!!!!!!The graphics are excellent and the battles are cool and the music is superior to ff7!But the charecters are even COOLER!The storyline is briiliant and there are many places to explore and weapons to get and lots of abilites to learn!My faviourate character is Zidane and it is cool the way he has a doublesided sword and I have the cool double sided sword it is called the tower. THIS GAME IS THA BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the graphics in ff9 are way better than ff7 and it is nearly as good as ffx because the battles are great and the storyline is also brilliant but i still think ff10s storyline,battles,characters and mini games are better than ff9.ff10 is still the best game ive played yet.

For some reason I really really enjoyed this game. I couldn't get myself to stop playing it. I agree that it wasn't the BEST FF game of the series. But I must admit that this cast of characters has to be my favorite. I just really got caught up with all of their stories and how everything was revealed on the 3rd disk! I recommend playing it

hummmmmmm I didn't really like this one.
Never actually finished it.
My friend says its the best but I don't agree.
I think the characters weren't so good looking too.....

Final Fantasy9 was the best game I ever had! Next to it was the game Chrono cross. I like what these types of games have in common.Quest. That is the essence of final fantasy, that is what makes people interested or not, the whole point of the game. Sure FF9 is childish, but it allows the younger player to feel the magic of final fantasy.

I thought Final Fantasy is truly a great game full of stategy, romance, and fighting. True, some moments were childish and stupid, but I enjoyed every moment including the idiotic ones. If you were to go to a class room full of junior high boys, you would see that they also love this game. And their opinion is really all that matters. Anyone who thinks other wise is obvously not looking at the whole point of Final Fantasy. It is exactly what it's name says, the fantasy that is deep inside every pre-teen boys head. The fantasy of fighting against evil and protecting a girlfriend. I think it's a perfect game for anyone who has a life.
