| 2009/02/26 Best(+3 pnt) [Edit/Delete/Suggest to delete/Show only this review or post sympathy comment/] by EZReader (Skip) Review history[Good:1(100%) Normal:0(0%) Bad:0(0%)] / Provider: 18997 Host:19267 Browser: 8090 Brilliant! Considering how few original ideas are developed into comics Bakeru-kun should rank among the top. The notion of an alien visiting Earth and studying our civilization by creating duplicate bodies of people, animals and even inanimate objects and then transforming into them in order to interact with us is genius. In this series of stories the alien, upon being discovered by a little boy, decides to end his mission and give all the doll sized artificial bodies to the boy (along with a house and unlimted money). The boy subsequently has numerous adventures helping his friends and families by transforming into his various dolls, which when possessed of his conscience become life sized, learning some valuable life lessons along the way. I am somewhat surprised to discover that given Fujiko Fujio has created numerous manga that were then developed into animated series that Bakeru-kun is not one of them. Apparantly no cartoon executive has yet grasped the franchise value of a potential show where they immediately attempt to develop a line of toys to go along with it. Here the toys/dolls are integal to the plot and would result in keeping any manufacturers busy for decades. Provided it could generate enough fan interest. There are few shortcomings to this series but one obvious one in comparison to other Fujiko Fujio stories is the magical sidekick/companion and confidant as we have seen with Q-Taro, Kiteretsu Daihyakka, Pokonyan and of course Doraemon. Perhaps the son of the alien should have visited Earth and learned his own life lessons with the Earth boys assistance. If you are a fan of Fujiko Fujio you will not be disapointed with this series. 2008/05/03 Normal comment [Edit/Delete/Suggest to delete/Show only this review or post sympathy comment/] by Samuel (Skip) Review history / Provider: 40985 Host:40918 Browser: 4184 DjOQWx Hello!
