I am a 2008 graduate of Arizona State University, with a degree in Asian Languages-Japanese. I am currently on hiatus from reviewing, largely due to my current employment with The Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida, and I am currently engaged to be married.
My hobbies include anime and manga (obviously, or I wouldn't be here), as well as birdwatching, hiking, and watching the occasional football game at the sports bar. (That's American football, generally, though soccer and Australian rules are fine, too.)
Since 1998, I have been writing reviews for THEM Anime, an Internet-based fan group originally founded as an offshoot of THEM, Arizona State University's science-fiction / fantasy social organization. Between 2000 and 2007, I was also Editor-in-Chief, though I've gone into semi-retirement, for reasons stated above. I have also worked as a staff member or guest panelist for several science-fiction, comics, and anime conventions in Arizona and California.
My life's dream actually has nothing to do with anime whatsoever: I'd like to see every bird species on Earth. I've only seen about 570 out of over 10000, so I have a long ways to go yet.
